Chiropody

Rory Orr (MChS) - Registered with the Health Professions Council: CH18709
Kerri Money

A Chiropodist is a health care professional who provides a comprehensive treatment of the foot and gives advice about footcare, footwear and exercises.

How often do you think about your feet? If you are like most people, only when they hurt.

Foot ailments are commonly cited as one of the most prevalent physical complaints particularly in the elderly. Often feet are overlooked in a general assessment and even when a problem is noted, the individual may not know where to turn for effective remedial therapy.

Hypnotherapy

Julie Leatherland - Professional Hypnotherapist & EFT Practitioner - Dip Hyp (LHS), EFT levels 1,2 & MET
Hetty Johnson - C.Ed., C.Hyp., MASC, Curative Hypnotherapist

What is Hypnosis?

Professional hypnotherapy can help you with:

  • Stopping smoking
  • Weight loss
  • Anxiety/stress
  • Fears & Phobias
  • Insomnia/sleep problems

This list is not exhaustive, but just an indication of what hypnotherapy & EFT can help you with. Please contact the clinic for a free 30 minute, no obligation consultation. Visit my website at www.hypnocolour.com

Hypnosis is a natural phenomenon and something that we all do every day without even thinking about it. Like daydreaming, a person does not feel hypnotised until they come back to full room awareness. No one can ever be hypnotised against their will and when in a relaxed, hypnotic state people can still reject any of the suggestions given to them if inappropriate.

Modern hypnotherapy involves using people's natural ability to go into a relaxed, hypnotised state to access the power of the mind. Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnosis to treat a wide variety of medical, emotional and psychological problems.

I am a Massage Therapist qualified in Swedish Body Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Baby Massage, Japanese Face massage and Emotional Freedom Techniques and I offer massage therapies to babies through to more mature clients.

I run a home based Holistic Massage Therapy practise located in the peaceful and beautiful village of Greens Norton, near Towcester, Northampton.

I also run holistic massage courses and ‘feel good’ sessions around Northampton to various support groups and organisations from family centres to Hospitals and I will be happy to give you more information on the times and days.

A little bit about Massage:
Massage has been used for thousands of years for its healing and preventative effects.

Holistic Massage has the potential to benefit the whole body and by working on many levels its effects are both physical and emotional.

A massage gives you the time and space to stop and allow your body and mind to relax, or it can be used to help with more specific ailments such as neck and shoulder tension, lower back pain, muscle pain, poor blood circulation etc and psychological problems such as stress, fatigue, anxiety, depression and insomnia.

Through the manipulation of soft tissue it invigorates, stimulates and deeply relaxes the body promoting a sense of well being and it’s a natural and effective way to treat the "whole" person.

The treatments available at Physioplus:

  • Pregnancy massage
  • Baby massage
  • Full Holistic (Swedish) massage
  • Back, Neck and shoulders massage
  • Specific area Massage i.e. legs/back etc.
  • Emotional Freedom techniques – EFT

Homeopathy

Joy Clarke BSc DSSH

Homeopathy is a natural and safe system of medicine that works by stimulating your body’s own healing process. All symptoms of illness are simply the body’s way of showing that it is out of balance and that it is doing its best to heal itself. By analysing the underlying patterns and tendencies of these symptoms, the homeopath can choose a remedy which matches your individual nature and which will give your vital energy the boost it needs to restore harmony.

The aim of homeopathic treatment is not just to relieve symptoms, but to work to restore health at a core level, giving long-lasting alleviation or cure of persistent or recurring conditions.

  • Asthma
  • Eczema
  • Hayfever
  • Digestive problems Arthritis and joint problems
  • Migraines
  • Depression and mood swings
  • Anxiety
  • Tiredness, low energy
  • Infertility
  • Pre-menstrual tension
  • Period problems
  • Menopausal symptoms

The first consultation takes the form of a detailed conversation about your current symptoms, life history, personality and lifestyle, likes and dislikes, and usually lasts about 2 hours. You will then be sent a remedy to take and asked to return for a follow up in about 4 weeks, which lasts 1 hour, with further appointments as necessary. Homeopathy is also very effective in treating children, and can be used in conjunction with conventional or other complementary therapies.

Indian Head Massage

Jo Robinson IIHHT

How is Indian Head Massage different to ordinary massage?

The main difference is that the client can choose to remain fully clothed throughout the treatment. The treatment is given with the client sat in an ordinary chair, as long as it is comfortable.

What does a treatment involve?

Indian Head Massage is carried out to the upper back, across the shoulders, upper arms, scalp and face. Because the treatment is non-invasive, it may be undertaken anywhere. The use of oils is optional.

What are the benefits?

It can help to:
  • Relieve eyestrain and headaches
  • Improve concentration
  • Relieve physical and mental fatigue
  • Improve joint mobility
  • Promote sleep
  • Relieve stress and muscular tension
  • Reduce stress and anxiety

As well as being a relaxing experience, Indian Head Massage can also be an invigorating and refreshing experience. The recipient of the treatment will often report a "balanced" feeling of peace and calm and will usually feel more alert and revitalised following a treatment.

Podiatry

Rory Orr (MChS) - Registered with the Health Professions Council: CH18709

Podiatrists are specialists who diagnose and treat biomechanical problems affecting the lower limb including the foot.

Sadly, one of the most commonly occurring podiatric problems called excess pronation is still not being recognised and treated in children. Currently over 50% of the population are estimated to suffer from this problem.
It does not just affect the feet but the entire body posture is affected - including the lower back.

During a 40-minute assessment, the Podiatrist thoroughly examines feet and legs, taking each joint in turn. Patients are also observed when walking and standing. After the examination the Podiatrist may prescribe corrective shoe inserts. The technical name for these is Orthotics.

Reflexology

Linda Rose - Member of the British Reflexology Association

Reflexology is a very safe and effective way of helping the body to heal itself.

It is a particular form of massage in which the therapist works with fingers and thumbs on reflex areas found in the feet. Since each of these reflex areas corresond to a distinct part of the body, it is possible to treat specific areas.

As well as being an effective means of maintaining overall good health and preventing illness, reflexology is a potent remedy for the following:
  • Digestive disorder - e.g. Irritable Bowel Syndrome, constipation
  • Depression and anxiety
  • M.E.
  • Headaches and migraine
  • Hormonal disorders - e.g. menstrual problems, menopause, thyroid imbalances
  • Pregnancy related conditions - e.g. back pain, fluid retention, constipation

Sports Therapy, Sports & Remedial Massage, S.C.E.N.A.R. Therapy

David Brown - MSMA LSSM Dip

Sports Therapy

Involves the assessment treatment and management of injuries, whether they be sustained through sporting activities, postural problems or other means. It focuses on rehabilitation of the individual to a level ideally beyond that at which the injury was sustained and also on prevention of further injury.

Sports Massage

It can involve the application of techniques that work at a deeper level than therapeutic massage techniques and is used for the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of the body's soft tissues which include muscles, tendons and ligaments. In addition it can be used to increase or decrease muscle length, assist in the removal of metabolic waste, increase or decrease muscle tone and assist in the mental preparation for sporting events.

Remedial Massage

Employs advanced massage techniques to treat muskuloskeletal conditions and muscular dysfunctions caused not only from injury but also those that are present as a symptom or result of some other physiological condition.

S.C.E.N.A.R. Therapy

Uses a pioneering device developed by Russian scientists for use in the space programme by cosmonauts. It is an holistic form of treatment that stimulates the nervous system.

Electrical impulses, similar to nervous impulses produced by the body are transmitted through the skin to the nervous system, generating a flow of information that the body uses to stimulate the release of bioactive substances enabling rapidly improved restoration of affected functions.

David Brown has worked consistently as a full-time professional therapist since 2002, is registered at the highest level (level 4) as a practitioner with the Industry’s leading representative body, The Sports Massage Association, and to date his practice has developed across the North of Northamptonshire and Northampton and has a client list that includes Northampton Saints RFC, Northants County Cricket Club, Physioplus Complementary Therapy Clinic and the Wellingborough Therapy Centre.
